MISSION STATEMENT

Our Mission for the Sixth Episcopal District MSWWO plus Pk’s is to prepare ourselves to be spiritually motivated in serving the Lord, and to become faithful, industrious, responsible mates, and to be highly productive members of the community.

Our mission is being accomplished through programming which includes:
• Periodic meetings/workshops
• Emphasis on promptly remembering the sick, bereaved and homeless through visits, cards, phone calls, flowers, prayers, etc.
• Attendance and participation at the SED Annual Retreats and all Connectional functions
• Attendance at the SED Annual Prayer Breakfast
• Attendance at the MSWWO, plus Pks’ Annual Luncheon during the Annual Conferences
• Efforts and contributions to Morris Brown College
• Visitation to smaller churches (fifteen members or less)

MISSION HIGHLIGHTS 2008-2009

• Attended Conn-MSWAWo Plus Pk’s Leadership Planning Retreat
• Participated with SED Programs: Mid-year Convocation, Founder’s Day Celebration, Leadership & Ministry Congress
• Published---The Connector Newsletter
• Organized Pictorial Scrapbook Contest
• At the SED-MSWWP, Plus Pk’s once day Retreat. Dr. Pam DeVeaux conducted a workshop: “Empowerment Spiritually---Modern Empowered Women”
• Attended the Annual Clergy Family Awards Breakfast (June 2009)
• Mrs. Shirley Taylor, Episcopal President, was the speaker for the Mid-Year Convocation Annual Prayer Breakfast. Topic: Demonstrate Your Christian Unity in Troubled Times (October 2009)
• Attended SED Deliverance Conference. Theme: Blessed & Highly Favored: Maximizing Women Health, Wealth, & Wholeness (October 2009)

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

• For the second consecutive year, the Sixth District MSWWO, Plus Pk’s captured top honors with Mr. Charles Dewey Smith named first Gentleman in 2008
• Mrs. Kemnesia Ford Hobbs named Connectional First Lady in 2009
• James A. Alexander, Jr. (PK) was awarded a 2,500.00 scholarship
• Mrs. Chermaine Alexander was elected Financial Secretary of Conn-MSWWO Plus Pk’s.
• SED-MSWWO, Plus Pk’s received the first place Attendance Award at the Connectional Clergy Family Awards Breakfast.
